Nlinutes of the Landmarks Commission <br />April 209 1978 <br />Preseilt: Chairman Betty Zord, Mamie Albright, Marlen.e Orzechowski9 Pat Pat-ton, <br />Julie Brotan' Zrorinie Petrigac and Jim Logan <br />A1so present: Council President Dewey Limpert (latter part of ineeting) <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Betty Lord at 8:10 p.m. Minutes of the <br />March 30th meeting were read and the following corrections made: Paragraph 6- <br />second line to reacl "co-sponsored by the Historical Society and N. 0. Library".m.. <br />Also next to last paragraph regarcling site selec-tions - Change 3. to "Butternut Ridge". <br />Betty Lord announced that Council had selected the Landmrks Commission request as <br />No. 3 priority in the Community Development Block Grant program. liowever, the sum of <br />$1965., our approved budget9 tai.]1 be subtracted from our request of M500. Betty also <br />advised she had received a Ietter from N'chael Rosenshein' Citizen Participation Co- <br />ordina,tor of the Department of Community Development, ackmowledging receipt of auti° <br />application for funds from the Communi.ty Development Block Grant program, Ne?cl-, public <br />hearing will Ue in Fairview Park on IyTay 17tho <br />Old. 3usiness: Cantac-t was made with Steve Schecter to ascertain whether price quoted <br />f or landmark signs was f irm. He replied to the af i irmative . <br />Following this was consideration of site signs, placement and ap-.,ropriate wording: <br />Butterrnlt - Man?_e Albright (placemen.t near cemetery) <br />S-tearns Homestead. - Steve Schecter <br />Coe Ridge - Pat Patton (placement in front of Shell Station, Columbia & Zorain) <br />REgarding the I,andmark designation signs it Vras agreed a sign 1111 x 1711 would be the <br />appropriate silze. <br />Ju1ie reported 1'lanning Commission was checking with the City Administratiion before <br />giving their opinion and/or recornmendation of Town Hall being designated a Ilandmarks <br />Vonnie Petri.gac, TuTarlene Orzechowski and Betty Lord have agreed to research Town Hal1e <br />It ?ras also discussod 'Uhat at one meeting the Landm.arks Commi.ssion devote time to going <br />through many pa,pers that have been placed in the attic of Town Hall, and perhaps setting <br />up a more permanent9 orci.erly file. We will check with Mr. Gundy regarditlg this matter. <br />Vonnie Petrigac repor-ted Council had released the Sea1 project. Niarlene Orzechowski <br />tvi-ll proceed with the City Seal Design Search with press releases to a11 area newspapers <br />and the Historical Societyo Entries are to be mailed to the Landmarks Commission, c/o <br />City Ha71, Deadline will be 4:30 pom. May 18th. <br />Betty Lord dis-cributed copies oi worksheet of homes cansidered under the plaquin.g <br />prog'ram.
