NIINUTE, S OF. AMEETIAIG OF THE PLANNIP1G CO'KMISSION OF THE <br />CITY 0F NORTH ULNISTED, HELD AT 8:00 P. M. <br />FEBRUARY 12, 1957. <br />Present were Messrs. Votava, Lewis, Esgar, Grumney, Hannano <br />Mr. Robert Pietsch of the Standard Oil Company appeared before the Planning <br />Commission requesting that a 201 strip of land ad,joining Whitethorne Avenue, which <br />•the Standard Oil Company thought was their property, be made available to the <br />company for their use on a loan basis. If, at some tim.e in, the future, the <br />city wants the property, the company would be vrilling to Vacate this land. <br />Whitethorne is only 40 feet wide at this pointe <br />A motion was made by Mr.a Esgar and seconded by Mr. Grumney that the Planning <br />Commission reconimencl tb City Council that the City hold ten feet of the 20, <br />strip for the j9hitethorne right-of-usy, and let, The Standard Oil Company use the <br />remaa.ning 10' on a loan basis,, said loan to be terminated at any time by the <br />City oy giving The Standard Oil. Co. a 30-day noticee All improvements on thz <br />property at such time would be removed at the expense of The 3tandard Oi1 Co. <br />In addition, in exchange for the use of this 104 strip, The Standard Oil Company <br />should deed to the city 15.38 feet of frontage to a depth of lOs of their <br />property fmonting on trJhitethorne at the rear of The Standard Uil Co. propertye <br />It is further recommended that steps be taken to obtain•land on the remaining <br />east-west portion of TrJhitethoxne, so the right-of-way ean be a minimum of 50, <br />wide along the streetos entire lengtho The motion passed unanimously. <br />The meeting adjourned at 9:30 P.
