The meeting -vvas <br /> called to order at 8s15 p.m. by Chairman Sipea Roll call was taken. <br /> Present s Mr. Sipe, TVlr a Grumney, Mayor Gareatz. (Pfir. Barnes attended special <br /> neeting.) <br /> Absenta Mr. Taylor. <br /> Also attending: Building Corurnissioaaer Gundy, Councilinan 0'Neil. <br /> Tliinu-L-es of the meeting of February lOth were read by Secretasy Grumneye <br /> Rnotion f or approval vras made by Mayor Gareau and s econded by Dljx°. Sipe. <br /> Yeas N'ays Pm sent <br /> Mr. Sipe <br /> l;r . Grurnney - <br /> Mayor Gareau <br /> Councilman 0'Neil, after revievring the minutes of the last mseting, <br /> suggested that council be notified of the st.xtoment. concerned with the <br /> posting of bonds by buiYders end developers. <br /> Counci'lman 0'Nei1 asked to have the term "business" defined. Business, <br /> storage of truck_s, etc., were discussed with the commission. These terms <br /> will bo clarified in the zoning ordin:mces. <br /> Mrr . John Bombay and Mr. Robert I{line of Ge s sner Road appea.red bef ore <br /> the commission to contest a zoo, to ba operated by Jung1e Larry;, located at <br /> 24002 Lorain Road. <br /> They aro concerned because of probable noise, odors and deaaluation <br /> of their property. <br /> This property consists of approximately 44 acres and one side is the <br /> boundary of the rear of lots on C,essner Roacio The zoning in cvhich this <br /> property is located a1lows i etail. business to be located along Lorain Road <br /> within a depth of 500 feet. <br /> Mr. Gundy called the CloveYand Building Commission and found that <br /> C"laveland considers a zoo to be a par-k, and being considered a park, it does <br /> not have to be zoned for retail business. <br /> I&. Gundy aZso calZed the Health Department and found that their - <br /> principle interest lios in the way the animaYs are treated. <br /> It was recomraended that this be contes-ted under "Forseeable Nuisanee". <br /> Mr. Bombay and M"r. K"line said tnat they vii1I have a petition signed <br /> and wi11 ret urn it to 1+A'r. . Gundy s <br />It was recommended that tve_ suggest to-the North Olmsted Charter <br />Commission that ?when writing the Charter, thsy consider increasing the <br />Planning Commissioa membership from five to sevenv <br />This was suggestel because of the continuing growth of the city and <br />its resultin; increase in work ; theref ore it was f elt that an enlarged <br />membersliip cvouI.d more a.dequate:Ly serve the needs of the community. <br />The comLnission received a co;p'y of the Mansfield Zoning Code which was <br />. reviewed by Mx. Gund1,. In: as much as Mansf ield is a highly industrial city <br />and North Olmsted a resiaential city, their problems are different from otars, <br />therefore their code wi11 not be too helpful.. <br />L+Ir.
