MIN[TTES OP A MEETING OF 2'HE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />May 10g lg6o <br />Present: Joseph P. Kadylak' Richard Mongello9 Thomas Biadas and <br />9nthoziy T. LaPonza <br />Absent: Ballard W. Vincent and Thomas J. Doran <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:10 P.M. by Chaix°man Joseph P. Kadylak. <br />The minutes of the meeting of Apri1 26th were read;_- by Secretary Mongello <br />and approved. <br />Empire Spring Compam <br />Mro Lewis W. Mead, President of Mead-Jacobs Companys appeared on behalf <br />of Empire Springs Company of Elyria. Mr. Meade gave his views on the use <br />of the limited industrial zoned land. He also said that he had a client, <br />whose name he could not divulge at this time, interest,ed in building a ? <br />lab in North Olmsted, ??X%'?'? <br />o., ??0,1 i.- ? <br />1 <br />Mre R. N. Dean' President of Empire Springsthen submitted to 'the Commission <br />drawings of a$300,000.00 one-story9 300'000 square foot building which his <br />company wishes to erect in North Olmsted and pla.ns for the development of <br />the 47 acres with an access from Columbia Road. Solicitor Clarence J. Oviatt <br />said that it was "silly" to talk about building now because they did not <br />have a road, sewers or water. <br />Also in attendance were members of the North Olmsted J.iinior Chamber of <br />Commerce who urged the acceptance of Emp3re Springs into North Olmsted. <br />Other comments were made. Joseph P. Kadylakv Chairman of the Planning Com- <br />mission, pointed out that the Commission had voted on March 8th to delay a <br />decision for 90 days, tiā¢rhich time expires June Sth. He urged Mr. Dean to <br />resubmit his proposal at that time. With this Mr. Kadylak elosed the issue. <br />No motion was made rel;?tive to this issuee <br />Representative of Plats Committee <br />It was moved by Mr. Kadylak9 seconded by Mr. Biadas, that one member of <br />the Plats Committee of Council attend all meetings of the Planning Com- <br />mission. By doing this, Council would have full inf ormation on all <br />subdivisions and proposals brought before them. "Yeas" Kadylaka PZongello' <br />Biadas9 LaPonza. <br />William Pate Subdivision <br />The Wi11iam Pate Subdivision (see minutes of April 12th and April 26th' 1960) <br />was re -presented to the Planning Commission and after consultation' also <br />with Mr. Ralph Christman of the P1ats Committee, it was agreed that the <br />subdivision should be approved with minor changes. It Vras moved by Mr. <br />LaPonza9 seconded by Mr. Biadas' to accept the subdivision. "Yeas" LaPonzag <br />Biadas, Mongello and Kadylak. <br />- 1 -
