CITY OF NORTH OL'_?1STED - BOARD OF ZONIIJG APPEALS <br />Special Meeting held at City Hall - November.16, 1967 <br />The meeting -?,s called to oider at 7:35 P.M. by Mr. William Greene, Chairmano <br />Members PreSent: Mrs. Eian, Mssrs. Greene, Byers, Roberts <br />Also Present: Mr. Gundy, Building Commissioner <br />1. Appellant: George A. Green, 23887 Beaumont Drive. Request for <br />variance to add a two-car attached garage to eristing <br />split-level d.Trrelling. <br />Request is in violation of Ordinance #62-335 Section <br />I161.0I, the sum of the two sides sha11 be not less than <br />151 wi.th the minimum width of one side not less th,-:,.n 51. <br />Present: Mr. Green: <br />Mr. Green explained that a large park area owned by the Deerfield Narth <br />Homeowners Association lies immediately west os" his home. An a.ttached <br />garage 191 wide would come within a foot of the property line. However, <br />he feels that a deta.ched garage would detract from the park-like appearance <br />in the xear of his home. His neighbor directly across the street with the <br />same situation wa.s granted a variance to build an attached garage onto his <br />home. Mr. Greene refer-red to the minutes of the September 7, 1966 meetingo <br />After extensive investigation, Mra Robert Yeager of 23884 Beaumont Drive <br />was granted a variance to build a.n attached garage less tha.n 1 foot from <br />the property Iine. Since notling can be built on this property and the <br />Homeowners Association voiced no obj ection, it z-ra.s f'elt thnt no harm would <br />result from building close to the property line. 14r. Byers moved to grant <br />a variance to allow for a 19' gas'ageo Mrs. Eian seconded the motion. <br />The rnotion was passed. <br />2. Appellant: Richard McGill, 24586 Deerfield Drige. Request to enclose <br />an existing patio 281 from rear 1ot line. <br />Request is in violation of Ordinance #-,62-33, Section <br />1163.01 which req_uires a 501 rear yard. <br />Present: NIr. McGiII <br />Mr. McGill stated tha.t ne wishes to enclose the existing patio and make it <br />into a"Florida-type":?room. His lot is the first Iot facing Deeriield Dxive <br />and is bounded on the rear by the side lot line oi a large lot facing Walter <br />Roada The house on the Walter Road lot is a great dista.nce from Mr. McGiII's <br />patio. A vineyard and large gaTden occupy the part of the lot behina his <br />Iot. Mrs. Eian moved to grant a 22' rear yard variance to enclose existing <br />patio; seconded by Mr. Roberts a.nd passed. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:.40 P.M. <br />William J.
