CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
PLANNING COMMISSION
REPORT FOR 1971
1971 saw the continued involvement of the Planning Commission in its various
areas of responsibility concerning the harmonious development of all lands
within the City. The Commission spent considerable time in the area of reviewing plans for
off-street parking and loading facilities. This area of responsibil.ity had
been given to the Commission during the prior year in an effort to upgrade
this important area of community development.
Seven rezoning matters were reviewed and acted upon during 1971 in addition
to the handling of sixteen (16) small subdivisions of property site,s.
The review of one particular major subdivision for.cluster residential
housing resulted in the approval of the preliminary plans for this development.
The Commission also reviewed and acted upon many other matters including
the acquisition of the Sealtest Property for use by the City Safety Depart-
ments, the acquisition of land for a possible hospital site, and the use of
land for a City Service Garage.
The Commission moved unanimously at their last meeting for 1971 that it -
would mutually cooperate with both the Citizens Advisory Committee on Land
Use and City Council in an effort for better planning for the City.
Respectfully submitted, .
Donald G. Ledvina, Chairman
