PLANNING COMNiISSION <br />MaY 9, 1973 <br />I. <br />II. <br />III. <br />IV. <br />Rcll Call <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Davis at 8:06 p.m. <br />Those present vere: Messrs. Davis, Richards, Byers and I,eavina. <br />Rol1 was called by Acting Secretary Ledvina <br />Also present: Mr. Gundy, Building Commissioner, Mr. McDermott, <br />Assistant to City Engineer and Mrs. Virginia Hodgins, Recording <br />Secretary. <br />Reading and Correction of Minutes <br />Mr. Richards moved minutes be approved as distributed. Mra Byers <br />seconded and motion passed. <br />Building Department Requests - No Itemso <br />Old Business <br />(a) Scholz Develepment <br />Mr. Clingman showed revised plans. Comment was made by Plan- <br />ning Commission members that new plan is a fair execution of <br />what was suggested. Plan is for two story development with <br />connecting dr.ive from Clague to Mastick. Buildings are 120 <br />ft. long and represent minimal development of the area. Mr. <br />Richards movec3 to approve p].an subject to changes in zoning. <br />Mr. Ledvina seconded and motion passed. <br />Original request b.y Mr. Clingman included lot with house on <br />ito Planning Commission has approved the change of the size <br />of the lot.- BZD Committee -inTill have to take this into con- <br />si.deration. Mr. Clingman has legal description of lot in <br />question. If it is C zoning all is o.k., if it is A he needs <br />varianoe. <br />(b) Retail Center at Park Ridge and Lorain <br />New name for• development is Park Plaza. Mr. Schwarzer was <br />present and reTaiewed plan. Potential occupants were listed, <br />back section is to be lighted with sma1l lights. There are <br />to be two i.-pea:.ir?gs un Park Ridge and one on Lorain Rd. Sev- <br />eral neighbors werP present with drainag;e and safety objec- <br />tions. Pictures were shown of similar business in Rocky Riv- <br />er. There was more discussion and objections from neighbors. <br />Nr. Ledvina gave histor.y of attempts to change zoning on Lo- <br />rain Rd. Local office is now proposed for corner in question. <br />Preliminary plan as submitted does not require engineering study. <br />Final plans require the engineering study. The Building Com- <br />missioner issues building permit only after all plans are de- <br />tailed. No variance is required on original plan. Mr. Rich- <br />ards moved to approve Park Plaza. Mr. Ledvina seconded. AlI <br />members present voted nay. Motion failed to pass.
