.? <br />PL•ANN2NG CONIMISSION <br />September 2b, 1974 <br />1. Ro11 CaZl <br />Secretary Tischler called the meeting to order at 8:06 p.m. <br />Present: Secretary Tiscnler, Messrs. Elliott, Davis, Prokasy and <br />Mrs. Eian. <br />A1so Present: Building Commissioner Gundy, Acting City Engineer <br />McDermott, I,aw Director Gareau and Secretary Hodgins. <br />IIm Review and Correction of Minutes <br />Mr. Prokasy moved minutes be approved as written. Motion was se- <br />conded and passed unanimouslye <br />TIT. Building Department Requests <br />(1) Mr. Gundy sh.owed plans for new building at Robert Hall site, <br />now occupied by Cleary Realty. 2000 sq. ft. building is to <br />house a savings and loan. 10 additional parking spaces are <br />needed. Mr. Miller, the architect, was present to explain <br />plans. Access is needed onto McKenzie. Tao lane drive is <br />being provided. Nir. Prokasy asked for history on driveway <br />access. NIr. Gundy gave brief history. Additional drainage <br />facility is needed for extra blacktopo Engineer McDermott <br />said small poinding area wi11 be suffieiento Mr. Prokasy <br />moved to place in committee for study until the next meeting. <br />Mrs. Eian seconded and motion passed. <br />(2) Mr. Gundy made presentation of plans for Friendly Ice Cream <br />Store; 62 seats; 31 parking spaces required with 40 some odd <br />parking spaces provided. Plan is i.n agreement with require- <br />ments. It now has proper set back after being turned dotan <br />by Board of Zoning Code Appeals. Boyd S. Richardson, Jr., <br />representative for the company explained the operation and <br />detailed the plans. Discussion followed. The only concern <br />of Commissi.on members is location of the one single family <br />dwelling in relation to the placement of the store. Mr. <br />Richardson said rear buffer can be installed. I,and drop off <br />makes height of fence arbitrary. Mr. Prokasy moved for ap- <br />proval of presentation of Friendly Tce Cream 5tore taith the <br />exception that along rear 6 ft. fence of solid type be left <br />to discretion of the Building Commissioner and that there be <br />total underground retention systems.
