LANI)MARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLIVISTED <br />MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 10, 2012 <br />1tOLL CALI, <br />Mr. Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. in Council Chambers and Mr. Dubowski <br />led the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: Paul Schumann, David Neville, Albert Richner, Tom Dubowski, Rosemary <br />Walker, Don Rerko <br />Absent: Dale Thomas, Julie Nader, Maryellen Davis <br />Staff: Director of Planning and Development Kimberly Wenger, Clerk of Commissions <br />Donna Rote <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Richner moved, secondecl by Mr. Neville, to approve the July 9, 2012 minutes as <br />written which passed 6-0. <br />OLD BUSIll1ESS <br />Desi2nation of Landmarks <br />4302 Porter Road <br />Ms. Wenger said while organizing the documents the commission gathered for the report she <br />noted more information was needed. Items include an architectural description of the house, <br />including evaluation if the features exemplify the Italianate style or not and photos of the outside <br />and inside (if available) of the house. Other missing pieces include a descriptive history of the <br />house, its construction, if additions were made, and information on the fire which took place in <br />the home. More information on the Knight family is needed to supplement the Biddulph family <br />history. The clerk was asked to arrange a visit for committee members for a Thursday afternoon <br />prior to their next meeting. <br />30095 Lorain Road Mr. Schumann said the committee toured the home and property prior to the meeting. Dan <br />Hocevar and Jim Morse were present and shared their belief that the home was constructed <br />earlier then records indicate. The committee will research both the initial owner, Mayor Seltzer, <br />and the architectural style of home. The committee members will meet on Saturday, September <br />22, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Frostville Museum to research items the Olmsted Historical Society <br />may have on the house. <br />Speaker Series <br />Commissioners discussed having a field trip to the Western Reserve Historical Society <br />Library/Achieves and Genealogy Center to learn more about the resources available when <br />researching a home.
