LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES OF JUNE 11, 2012 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. in Council Chambers and Mr. Dubowski <br />led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Present: Paul Schumann, David Neville, Dale Thomas, Albert Richner, Tom Dubowski, <br />Julianne Nader, <br />Absent: Maryellen Davis, Don Rerko <br />Staff: Director of Planning and Development Kimberly Wenger, Clerlc of Commissions <br />Donna Rote <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Thomas moved, seconded by Mr. Richner, to approve the May 14, 2012 minutes as <br />written which passed 6-0. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Designation of Landmarlcs <br />• 4302 Porter Road <br />Mr. Thomas said Porter Road documents from the Frostville archives were submitted and <br />forwarded to committee members. Mr. Richner said the Biddulph report is being used for the <br />foundation of the Porter Road.report. Mr. Schumann said finding Italianate homes built from <br />stone is very rare which supports the homes significance. He will write a report on the style and <br />materials of the home and asked that a second tour of the home be arranged. <br />• 30095 Lorain Road <br />The clerk said Mr. Morse and Mr. Hocevar sent documents pertaining to their home which were <br />forwarded to committee members and noted a new tour had yet to be set. <br />Butternut Historic District Survey Project <br />Ms. Wenger said the final report would be received soon. At this time it doesn't appear that <br />North Olmsted's historical district as drawn would qualify for National Register recognition. <br />The commission can look at the established boundaries and possibly loolc at groups of structures <br />or homes which are inore significant as well as possibly loolcing at making adjustments to the <br />district boundaries. <br />Mr. Schumann said the plaquing ceremony for the Biddulph home was held June 8, 2012 and <br />was well attended.
