CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ARTS COMMISSION <br />MINUTES OF OCTOBER 19, 2016 <br />6:30PM <br />ROLL CALL <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m. in Council's Caucus Room. <br />Present: Bill Brake, Stephanie Procter, JoAnn DePolo, Leah Rogalski Davis, Lauren Suter, <br />Jackie Anderson, Laura Simna <br />Absent: Jeff Campbell, Annie Kilbane, Sue. Collander, <br />Staff: Planner James Aspery <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Jackie moved to approve the Arts Commission minutes of September 21, 2016 which passed <br />unanimously. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />North Olmsted Through the Years <br />Lauren updated the group on the project, stating that she has a few more videos in progress <br />before the project is finished. Jackie added that the posts were very well-received, and looks <br />forward to seeing the upcoming posts when she is able. <br />NEW/ONGOING BUSINESS <br />North Olmsted Noel <br />Members provided updates on their respective areas. Jackie confirmed that the group can set up <br />any time after 3PM on Friday 12/2- the group will determine a preferred time at the next <br />meeting. James confirmed that the reindeer contract is still on and that "Santa Paul" has been <br />booked by Annie from 4-5PM. James will purchase candy canes and arrange for the Rec <br />Center's chair to be moved to the Cabin no later than Friday morning 12/2. Leah confirmed that <br />there are five food vendors booked: the Bom, Wok-N-Roll, Crooked Kettle, Breadheads, and <br />Homemade by Hannah cupcakes. Bill asked about an event site plan, with James confirming that <br />he will provide a layout at the next meeting. JoAnn was assigned to the hot chocolate station <br />with Sue, who will receive 5-6 air pots on loan from the Brake family. Lauren confirmed that the <br />crafts were decided with James, who will be ordering them this coming week. They will be the <br />same overall composition as in previous years, but updated so they aren't a repeat. <br />James confirmed that he is meeting with Stephy from Rec within the next week to discuss <br />outdoor games. Regarding the bonfire, it was confirmed that Service Department will dig the fire <br />pit and collect junk pallets. James will notify and remind the Fire Department to extinguish the <br />fire after SPM. Signage and advertising was discussed, with JoAnn suggesting that the <br />Commission create some sort of unique stamp or sticker to provide the event with an identity. <br />The group agreed that was a smart idea for branding, so Lauren will design a general logo for <br />James to create rack card, NOCS mailers and potentially multi-use stickers for use across all <br />events. Stephanie, Lauren and Leah will be James' contact for flyer distribution to the schools
