BUILDING & ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES OF JANUARY 4, 2016 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Raig called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm in Council Chambers and led the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />Present: Eric Allain, Melissa Meredith, Robert Papotto, Michael Raig, Donna Sabo <br />Staf£ Planning Director Kim Wenger, Assistant Law Director Bryan O'Malley, <br />Assistant Building Commissioner Daniel Russell, Permit Clerk Nicole Rambo <br />BOARD ORGA1vIZATION <br />Ms. Meredith moved, seconded by Mr. Allain, to appoint Michael Raig chair for 2016, <br />which passed 4-0, Mr. Raig abstained. <br />Ms. Sabo moved, seconded by Mr. Papotto, to appoint Eric Allain vice chair for 2016, <br />which passed 4-0, Mr. Allain abstained. <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Allain moved, seconded by Mr. Papotto, to approve the Board of Zoning Appeals <br />minutes of December 7, 2015, motion passed 3-0, Ms. Sabo and Ms. Meredith abstained. <br />RESIDENTIAL APPEALS AND REQUESTS <br />15-4769; Lisa Reszegi: 29840 Broxbourne <br />Proposal consists of a newly constructed deck and gazebo, the following variances are requested: <br />1. A 593 sq. ft. variance for maximum lot coverage; code permits 2,700 sq. ft., applicant shows <br />3,293 sq. ft., Section 1135.05(c). <br />2. An 11 ft. 8 in. variance for rear yard setback; code requires 50 ft., applicant shows <br />3 8 ft. 4 in., Section 113 5.06. <br />3. A 1 ft. variance for maximum height of other accessory structure; code permits 12 ft., <br />applicant shows 13 ft., Section 1135.02(d)(2). <br />The oath was administered to Lisa Reszegi and Kevin Madison, architect. Ms. Reszegi purchased <br />the home in December 2014 and her mother, who resides in Korea, built the structure as a <br />surprise for her over the suxnmer. Ms. Reszegi's mother was unaware that permits and variances <br />were required to build the structure. Mr. Russell said the Building Department was called out for <br />work without a permit and the job was almost complete. No inspections have been performed on <br />the site. Ms. Sabo pointed out that there was a letter from a neighbor in the packet, but the <br />neighbor was not present. Mr. Papotto asked Mr. Madison if he looked at the structure to see if it <br />could be brought into conformance. Mr. Madison stated that the structure could not be <br />reassembled and there have been 6 foundations set which go beyond the rear yard setback. The <br />structure cannot be redone because the framing is done in a hexagonal shape and he believed <br />;
