CITY OF NORTH OLM,STED <br />CULTURAL ACTIVITIES COIVIlVIISSION <br />HELD IN OLD TOWN HAI.L <br />JUNE 1, 2005 <br />NIINUTES <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Acting Chairwoman Martindale called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. <br />PRESENT: Vice Chairwoman B. Martindale, Commission Members; B. Brown, D. Frazier, <br />and G. Yustick. <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mayor Thomas O'Grady <br />ABSENT: Chairman R. Garland, Commission member C. Birney, B. Biiiboaca <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF NIINUTES: <br />CommissionerTs believed that the April 6, 2005 minutes were approved at the May 4, 2005 <br />meeting although there was nof a quorum for an official meeting. <br />III. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Mrs. Martindale voiced a concern over the continued absence of commission member <br />Ghristine Birney. The Board understands she is very busy with her school schedule so they <br />would like the clerk to speak with Mrs_ Birney regarding remaining cm the commission or <br />not. <br />N. OLD BUSINESS: <br />• Continued discussion regarding Romeo & Juliet play <br />Mrs. Martindale indicated that the actors they had to play Romeo 8c Juliet were okay but, <br />were not up to performing Shakespeare. So she and the director have chosen to p,erform <br />Sherlock Holmes, The Hound of Baskerville and the perforfnance dates remain the same. <br />She and the director think the new play would be more popular and performed well by the <br />actors. <br />V. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />• Discussion of staggered appointments for Cultural Activities Commission members. <br />Mrs. Brown as well as other members thought a 5 year commitment was long and brief <br />discussion of a 2 year term took place. <br />1VIr. Yustick suggested that regazding money/budget the Finance Director has not gotten back <br />to the commission. He wili address the homecoming committee again for assistance. <br />VI. COMIVIIT"TEE REPORTS: <br />VII. ADJOURNMENT: <br />With no further business Acting Chairwoman Martindale adjourned the meeting.
