The clerk will e-mail everyone an updated BBCA appointment sheet
with the minutes for review.
COMMUNICATIONS
Mr. O'Malley reviewed for board members their procedures and reviewed their role in the cities
approval process. He advised that the board's determinations are bound and can only be over
turned by the courts. He suggested the board should have rules of procedures as well as finality
forms for their rulings as does the Board of Zoning Appeals Board. It was recommended that the
board adopt swearing in owners/witnesses to present evidence for each case heard. It was
requested that he be allowed to draft up rules of procedures and finality forms with the clerk's
assistance for the board. He reviewed that there is a Board of Building Code Appeals in
Columbus which the board may be bound to which he will research to ensure the board is in line
with both state and local laws. Board members welcomed the Law Departments assistance on
making sure they are conducting their meetings properly. Mrs. Sabo felt that rules of procedures
would benefit not only the board members but the general public as well. There was discussion
as to listing what documents the board would like to have presented with an application as well.
