.) <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CULTURAL ACTIVITIES COMMISSION <br />MEETING MINUTES OF JULY 9, 2008 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Chair Garland called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Frostville Museum. <br />Present: Gerald Yustick, Beverle Martindale, John Kepperley, Faye Curry, Royden <br />Garland, David Wahl <br />Absent: Timothy Ulewicz <br />Also Present: Barbara Brown <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Kepperley moved, seconded by Ms. Martindale, to approve the minutes of June 4, 2008, <br />which was unanimously approved, 6-0. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Frostville Art Show <br />Mr. Kepperley distributed updated information including a current list of artists, 19 will be <br />participating as of July 1, a site drawing showing display and vendor locations, and last year's <br />site drawing. Late entries will be accepted. Final information will be presented at the August <br />Cultural Activities meeting. To provide coffee and assistance to the artists throughout the show <br />Mr. Kepperley suggested a hospitality tent run by Kiwanis, Key Club, and CAC members. Two <br />or three portable restrooms will be on site. The art show brochure and need for logo were <br />discussed. The dedication of Frostville Village Church on August 3, 2008 was discussed. <br />Christmas Lighting Contest <br />Commission members approved the brochure. It was decided entries should be mailed to the <br />Planning Department at City Hall. Photos of lighting displays were discussed. <br />Frostville Area Streetscane Banners <br />Construction and design details of banners, tentative number to be made of each banner, and area <br />of distribution were discussed. Appreciation for Planning Director Wenger's assistance was <br />stated by Commission members. The possibility of yard signs for advertising was discussed. <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Dover Plavers Update <br />Ms. Martindale said R UR will open on July 19, will play the last two weekends of July and the <br />first weekend in August, and will be performed in the round with the audience seating circling
