? ?.. <br />CULTURAL ACTIVITIES COMMISSIOIv1 <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MEETING MINiJ'TES FEBRiJARY 6, 2008 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Vice Chair Martindale brought the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. <br />Present: John Kepperley, Gerald Yusticlc, Beverle Martindale, David Wahl, Royden <br />Garland, Faye Curry <br />Absent: Tim Ulewicz <br />REVIEW ANI) CORRECTIOIV OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Garland moved, seconded by Ms. Curry, to approve the minutes with corrections for <br />December 5, 2007, which was unanimously approved. <br />Mr. Kepperley moved, seconded by Mr. Wahl, to approve the minutes with corrections for <br />January 2, 2008, which was unanimously approved. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Art Show Applications <br />Mr. Kepperley mailed out 400 applications to potential participants for the Frostville <br />Art show scheduled for August. The Festival is listed in the Ohio Arts Council catalog this year. <br />Mr. Kepperley would like the application available on the city web site as well. Mr. Kepperley <br />would like to keep the artists in the quadrangle area of Frostville. The Commission will need to <br />draft new floor plans for the arrangement of spaces and would like to consider asking additional <br />food vendors to participate. Mr. Kepperly is also pursuing the Cuyahoga County Arts and <br />Culture grant for the Art Show at Frostville. Ms. Curry suggested having the information about <br />Frostville posted on the cable channel. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Black History Month <br />Ms. Curry spoke with the North Olmsted Library regarding Black History Month. The Library <br />agreed to have some activities for Black History Month. Ms. Curry spoke with a woman named <br />Sister Jewel who could participate in a story telling session and Ms. Curry also contacted the <br />Cleveland School of the Arts for future projects. February 24, 25 or 26 are the dates available. <br />A Sunday story telling will be simple to arrange. Mr. Kepperley will speak with the schools to <br />see if some of the students would participate in an essay or art project.
