. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CULTURAL ACTIVITIES COMMISSION <br />MEETING MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 4, 2009 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Chair Yustick called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. at the North Olmsted Library. <br />Present: Gerald Yustick, Beverle Martindale, David Wahl, John Kepperley, <br />Barbara Brown, Faye Curry <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Wahl moved, seconded by Mr. Kepperley, to approve the minutes of October 7, 2009, which <br />were approved 6-0. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Holidav Lighting Contest 2009 <br />Mr. Yustick acknowledged the revised brochure and copies provided. The next Cultural <br />Activities Commission meeting will be moved from December 2 to December 16 in order to <br />review the contest photos submitted. The selected submittals will be inspected on December 18 <br />or 19. Promotional ideas were discussed including the placement of brochures at various <br />locations, the City website and cable channels, and publishing an article in the local papers. Mr. <br />Wahl asks that the brochure be further revised to include a note about the required photos on the <br />registration form portion of the brochure. <br />Christmas Festival at Old Town Hall <br />Mr. Wahl reported that the band Minimum Requirements will not perform at the event this year. <br />Mr. Kepperley spoke to Chelsea Schumann about the Bowling Green Arts Enterprise group <br />performing; discussions will continue. Mr. Kepperley suggested the event may be designed <br />differently than previous years but at this time it is uncertain whether the event will take place. <br />Juried Arts & Crafts Festiva12010 <br />Mr. Yustick suggested mailing brochures to businesses with a request they be displayed for the <br />public. Mr. Kepperley does not think many businesses would comply with the request. The <br />festival is scheduled for August 8, 2010. A show evaluation form was mailed to the artists who <br />participated; the responses were reviewed. <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Dover Plavers Update
