CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CULTURAL ACTIVITIES COMMISSION <br />MEETING MINUTES OF JANUARY 7, 2009 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Chair Yustick called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. at the North Olmsted Branch Library. <br />Present: Gerald Yustick, Beverle Martindale, David Wahl, John Kepperley, Faye Curry <br />Also Present: Lisa Nemeth of North Coast Promotion <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Kepperley moved, seconded by Ms. Martindale, to approve the minutes of December 3, <br />2008, which were approved, 5-0. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />2008 Holidav Lighting Contest <br />The contest prizes were awarded to the three winners on January 6th by Mayor O' Grady in his <br />office. The prizes consisted of a certificate signed by Mayor O' Grady and Cultural Activities <br />Chair Yustick, and an engraved Christmas ornament purchased from Things Remembered. <br />Possible changes to the contest procedure will be discussed at future meetings. <br />Juried Arts & Crafts Festival <br />Lisa Nemeth of North Coast Promotion will work toward the goal of registering 100 artists for <br />the show, which is scheduled for August 9, 2009. For their promotional services North Coast <br />Productions will earn a percentage of the registration fees on the entries they submit; 50% has <br />been proposed. Applications will be mailed by the end of January. The deadline for registration, <br />the judging process, music, and food vendors were discussed. Service Director Limpert will <br />check with the City Engineer on the possibility of installing the art show banners on traffic signal <br />poles instead of utility poles. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />2009 Anpointments <br />No new appointments have yet been made for the two open positions on the Commission. <br />Possible candidates were briefly discussed. <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Dover Players
