PLANNING & DESIGN COMMISSION
CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
MINUTES FOR OCTOBER 13, 2010
ROLL CALL
Mr. Laslco called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers and led the Pledge of
Allegiance.
Present: John Laslco, Don Rerko, Ralph Bohlmann, Melissa Meredith, Robert Parry, Jim
Cotner
Absent: Greg Malone
Staff: Planning Director Kimberly Wenger, Assistant Law Director Bryan O'Malley, City
Engineer Pete DiFranco, Building Commissioner Dale Mitchell, Clerk of
Commissions Donna Rote
REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES
Mr. Lasko moved, seconded by Mrs. Meredith, to approve the Planning and Design
Commission minutes of September 22, 2010, which was approved 6-0
OLD BUSINESS
Mr. Laslco said that although the Century Federal proposal was not on the doclcet, residents were
present to address the commission. Mr. John Hill said he represented Mackenzie Road residents
who would lilce to request the city require traffic and storm water survey. Mr. Laslco thanlced the
residents for being present to submit the document and although the commission would accept
the document it would not be discussed as the applicants were not present.
NEW BUSINESS
CMS10-32: Carol Ekstrand; 4562 Lansing Drive
Proposal consists of a lot split and consolidation. A section of parcel B, PP# 232-02-002, which
is 1.28 acres will be split off and consolidated with parcel A, PP# 232-02-057, which is 0.3306
acres. Newly created Parcel B, PP# 232-02-002, will be 0.89 acre and Parcel A, PP# 232-02-
057, will be 0.73 acre. Both parcels are zoned One Family Residence B and meet zoning code
requirements.
Ms. Wenger said parcel A fronts on Lansing Drive and parcel B fionts the Oring Road right-of-
way, although the street has not been constructed. Parcel B is not land loclced as there is public
access. However any future development of parcel B would require the property owner
complete the right-of-way access. As the newly created lots meet all zoning code requirements,
she recommended approval. Mr. DiFranco said although he had no objection to the request, a
new mylar would be required showing the correct parcel numbers of both parcel A and B. Mr.
O'Malley said that parcel B is not landlocked and it would be the burden of the property owner
to develop the right-of-way, not the city.
