' <br />Present: T. Koberna, J. Konold, J. Maloney, and R. Gomersall. <br />Absent: W. Kremzar <br />Also Present: Law Director Gareau, Assistant Building Commissioner Rymarczyk, and Clerk of <br />Commissions Conush. <br />J. Konold moved to approve the minutes of June 4, 1998, seconded by J. Maloney and unanimously <br />approved. <br />Chairman Gomersall advised that each case would be judged on the physical situation peculiar to itsel? so <br />that in no way is a judgment rendered considered to be a general policy judgment affecting properties and <br />like situations elsewhere. <br />1) Forest Citv Auto, 23789 Lorain Road <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request the following signage variances: 1) a variance for location <br />of ground sigu in prolubited triangular area; aud 2) a 19 square foot variance for total area of wall <br />signage. Tabled from June 4, 1998 board of zoning appeals meeting. <br />Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1163.04 (H) and 1163.12 (A). <br />This case was withdrawn from the agenda. <br />2) North Olmsted Park, 28114 Lorain Road <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request a variance to install a temporary mobile (4'X8') lighted sign <br />for approximately 7 days commencing on or about August 26, 1998, for homecoming. <br />Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1163.12 (g). <br />Mrs. Creadon, representing the city, presented the proposal. It was clarified that August 27, 1998 is <br />opening day at homecoining. Mrs. Creadon advised Homecoming will run Thursday through Sunday. <br />She explained the sign would be in place by mid afternoon on August 26, 1998 and removed from the <br />premises the evening ofAugust 30, 1998. There were no further questions. <br />J. Maloney moved to grant North Olmsted Park, 28114 Lorain Road, a variance (1123.12) to install a <br />temporary mobile (4'X 8') lighted sign for a 4 day period of time, n n?g from Thursday (August 27, <br />1998) tlrough Sunday (August 30, 1998). Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1163.12 (g). The <br />motion was seconded by J. Konold and uuanimously approved. Variance granted. <br />3) Betty L. Ellis, 6892 Stearns Itoad <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request variance to erect a 6 foot stockade fence along the north side <br />of property by fastening it to an existing four 4 foot high fence. The ordinance allows for "a" fence on <br />a property line but installation would result in two fences on the same property line. Violation of Ord. <br />90-125, Section 1135.02 (f-1). <br />Chairmau Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was administered to: Mrs. <br />Ellis (applicant), Mr. Frisby (neighboring resident), and W. Ickes (neighboring resident). Mrs. Ellis <br />noted the fence would be an added protection from the vicious dogs next door. The request was to
