ROLL CALL: <br />Vice Chairman, Koeth called the meeting to order at 7:45PM. - <br />PRESENT: Vice Chairman, Koeth, Board members, K. O'Rourke, C. Allan, and W. Spalding. <br />ALSO PRESENT: Assistant Law Director, J. Dubelko, City Engineer, P. Deichmann, Building <br />Commissioner, D. Conway and Clerk of Commissions, D. Rote. ABSENT: Chairman, Tallon, Board members, T. Hreha and S. Asseff. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: The minutes of the Planning Commission <br />meeting dated March 28, 2000 have been submitted for approval. <br />K. O'Rourke mQtioned to approve the 1Vlarch 28, 2000 minutes as written. The motion was <br />seconded by R. Koeth and unanimously approved. <br />III. BUILDING DEPART1\/1ENT REQUESTS: <br />1. Elias Bros.; 26770 Lorain Rd. <br />Proposal consists of demolishing the existing restaurant and replacing it with a Steak N' Shake <br />Restaurant and Quick-Change building. A.'T THE REQUEST OF 'I'HE APPLICAN'I' THIS <br />PROPOSAL HAS BEEN WI'Y'IIIDRAWN INDEFINITIELY! <br />IV. NEW DEVELOPMENTS AND. SUBDIVISIONS: <br />1. Northern Avenue Vacation Plat: <br />The proposal, requested by the City, is to vacate- a currently dedicated portion of Northern <br />Avenue, from Burns Road eastward about two hundred forty seven and twenty-five one <br />hundredth (247.25) feet. Zoning of adjacent land is "B"-Residence, Single Entirely. <br />Acting Chairman Koeth reviewed that the request is by the City and asked Mr. Deichmann to <br />review the request. Mr. Deichmann the City Engineer, reviewed that an owner abutting the street <br />had been trying to sale her house and informed the City that potential buyers are concerned if the <br />road would be completed soon. She believed that the street was hindering the sale of her home. <br />The street was left in place for the school to use as a driveway if they wanted, but it has been <br />more than 20 years and they have never indicated that they wanted to make use of it. That is why <br />it is before Planning Comrriission at this time. Mrs. O'Rourke questioned if the land is just given <br />to the property owners. Mr. Deichmann indicated that the property would just convert back to <br />the two property owners. There are currently sewer and water lines in place and the City would <br />retain the easement. Mr. Dubelko reviewed that if the cities deternune that the street is not <br />needed then it is customary to vacate the land and convert it back to each abutting owner. Mr. <br />Lehr came forward and indicated that he recently purchased the home in question and he is in <br />favor of the land not being used for a street. W.
