ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman, Maloney called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Chairman, J. Maloney, Board members, T. Koberna, J. Konold, W. Kremzar and T. Kelley. <br />ALSO PRESENT: Law Director, M. Gareau, Asst. Building Commissioner, T. Rymarczyk and Asst. <br />Clerk of Commissions, S. Solomon. <br />11. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: No items. <br />J. Maloney advised that each board member had viewed the premises involved for each case. <br />Three votes are required for approval. In addition each case will be judged on the physical <br />situation peculiar to itself, so that in no way is a judgment rendered considered to be a general <br />policy judgment affecting properties and like situations elsewhere. <br />III. BUII.,DINCi DEl'ARTMENT REQUES'I'S: <br />1. Haroid J. Hirz; 5857 Fark Iaidge Dr. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). The proposal consists of erecting a shed in the rear yard. The <br />following variance is requested: <br />A 90 sq. ft. variance for size of shed (code permits 70 sq, ft., applicant shows 160 sq. ft.), section <br />(1135.02 d-1). Which is in violation of Ord. 97757 section 1135.02 (D-1). <br />Chairman 1Vlaloney called aIl interested parties forward to review the proposal. The oath was <br />administered to Harold and Noreen Hirz, the property owners, who came forward to review the <br />proposal. Mr. Maloney went over the requested variance and questioned if the board members <br />had any problems granting this variance. The board members had no problem with it. Chairman <br />1Vlaloney administered the oath to a neighbor, Thomas Havlik, who came forward to view the shed. Mr. Havlik questioned why the shed is so big. Mr. Maloney commented that the shed is <br />not that big. Mr. Konold suggested that there are all kinds of them that size and bigger in North <br />Olmsted. Mr. Havlik commented that he didn't have a problem with it, he just wanted to find out <br />what it looked like and exactly where it would be located. <br />J. Konold motioned to grant Harold J. Hirz of 5887 Park Ridge Dr. his variance as written. W. <br />Kremzar seconded the motion and was unanimously approved. Granted 4/5/01 <br />2. Arthur Friedel; 25708 Timber Cove <br />Request for variance (1123.12). The proposal consists of adding a patio room to existing home. <br />The following variance is requested: <br />A 15 ft. rear yard variance for a three season room addition (code requires 50 ft., applicant <br />shows 35 ft.), section (1135.08 A). Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 section, 1135.08 A. <br />Chairman Nlaloney called all interested parties, forward to review the proposal. The oath was <br />administered to Arthur and his son Gary Friedel, who came forward to review the proposal. Mr. <br />Maloney went over the requested variance and suggested that he had no problem with granting <br />this variance. Mr. Koberna agreed and had no problems either.
