ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman R. Tallon called the meeting to order at 7:45pm. <br />PRESENT: Chairman, R. Tallon, board members; T. Hreha, W. Spalding, R. Koeth, and C. <br />Allan. <br />AI.,SO PRESENT: Assistant Law Director, J. Dubelko, City Engineer; P. I3eichmann and Clerk <br />of Commissions; D. Rote. <br />ABSENT: Board members; K. O'Rourke, and S. Asseff. <br />Chairman Tallon announced that on this somber day he would like to observe a moment of <br />silence for the victims of the cowardly attack that struck America today in New York City and <br />Washington DC. Board member, Hreha commented that today as he watched TV; City after <br />City and Business after Business shutdown all nonessential or what was deemed nonessential <br />work and personal. He believed that only safety forces i.e. Police and Firemen would be <br />working. He recognizes that everyone has to get beyond this and move forward however, <br />today's events are not even 12hours old and he is embarrassed that the board is present doing <br />business as usual. He respectfully ask that the meeting be postponed for two weeks. Two <br />women from the audience agreed verbally with Mr. Hreha. Mr. Tallon indicated that he would <br />leave it up to the developers and questioned if any of them had a problem delaying the meeting. <br />Both Developers Diversified representative and Horizons Daycare Director Mr. Smith indicated <br />that they were ready to give their presentations now. NIr. Allan indicated that he felt that Mr. <br />Hreha was correct and the meeting should not be held. Mr. Koeth indicated that he felt very bad <br />for what had happened however; one thing that makes this country great is that life has to go on <br />and that is something that all Americans have stood for. In the worst of tragedies America has <br />shown that they can continue to move forward in the worst of times. Though this is a very small <br />part of government it is important that we continue to move forward. IVIr. Tallon indicated that <br />he would continue with the planning commission meeting. <br />II, REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />The Planning Commission minutes dated July 24, 2001 .have been submitted for approval. <br />R. Tallon motioned to approve the July 24, 2001 Planning Commission minutes as submitted. R. <br />Koeth seconded the motion, roll call on the motion; R. Tallon, R. Koeth, T. Hreha and W. <br />Spalding; yes, C. Allan abstained. Minutes approved. _ <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />1. Kronheims Furniture• 5198 Great Northern Plaza-South: <br />Proposal consists of expanding the existing building by 7,250 square feet. <br />Note: Variances are required.
