Nader, abstain.
Moteon Approved.
III. SIGNS: No Items.
V. BUSINESS:
1) Lighthouse Pools; 25601 Lorain Road
Proposal consists of an addition to the existing building. Note: Planning Commission gave a
favorable recommendation to the Board of Zoning Appeals on 2/13/01. Board of Zoning
Appeals granted variances on 3/1/01. I'lanning Commission heard this case again at the 3/13/01
meeting and approved it (pending Architectural Review Board).
1VIr. Zergott called all interested parties forward to review the proposal. Steve Schill, the
architect, and Pat Goold, the owner, came forward to review fhe proposal. Mr. Schill explained
to the board that they were planning to demolish the office building on Lorain and Bailey and
extend Litehouse down to Bailey. The new building will be 2 stories because of the drop off.
The basement will just be for storage. They don't plan on changing any of the building materials,
designs, or colors of the existing Litehouse and the new addition will match the existing
building. He then explained that Planning Cominission had asked them to chop seven feet off
the west side. They received eight variances from the Board of Zoning Appeals. Mr. Yager
questioned which store was in tKe present center bay. Mr. Schill replied that the ratio is Big and
Tall at 3/8 and Litehouse is 5/8 of the entire existing building, with Litehouse on the eastern side.
Mr. Yager commented that the corner pyramid pieces on top of the building don't look
proportionate to each other. He then questioned if they would continue the fencing. Mr. Schill
explained that the Planning Commission had asked them to drop the last 25 ft. of the fence down
to 3 ft. in height. IVIs. Schulz questioned the elevation of the screened mecharucal units. W.
Yager replied 4 ft. 6 1/2 inches. Ms. 5chulz commented that the new addition crown is just a
long span with nothing to compliment the other side where Litehouse will take over. She then
questioned what the lease space ratio will be when this is done. Mr. Goold replied it should be
2/3 and 1/3. Mr. Yager questioned what the building they would be demolishing was used for.
