Konold, N: Sergi, and W. Kremzar, <br />AB SENT: T. Kelly . <br />ALSO PRESENT:. Assistant Law Director, B <br />Clerk of Commissions, A. Kilbane. <br />O'Malley, Building Commissioner, U. Conway and Asst. <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: The Board of Zoning Appeals minutes of July 10, 2002 <br />have been submitted for review. <br />Konold made a motiori to accept the minutes as submitted. The motion was seconded by W. Kremzar <br />and unanimously approved. <br />Chairman Maloney indicated that there are 18 cases requesting 38 variances and 5 special permits. He <br />then informed those in attendance that each board member had viewed the premises involved for each <br />case. Three votes are required for approval. He mentioned there is one board member absent so there <br />are four members voting at the meeting. He indicated each case will be judged ori the physical situation <br />peculiar to itself, so that in no way is. a judgment rendered considered to be a general policy judgment <br />affecting properties or like situations elsewhere. III. BLTII,DING DEPARTMENT REQLTESTS; <br /> <br />Dennis and Kathv Solomon; 28501 Willet Rd. (WRD-1) <br />Request for variance (1123.12). The proposal consists of addition to home. <br />The following variances are requested: <br />A special permit to add to a non-conforming building (1165.02). Note: Existing sunroom is 40 feet from <br />rear property line, code requires 50 feet. 1. A 19 foot variance for rear yard setback (code requires 50 ft., applicant shows 31 ft.). Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 sections (1165:02), (1135.08 (a)). Note: This request was tabled at <br />the June 6, 2002 and July 10, 2002 meetings at the request of the applicant: Chairman Maloney called all interested parties forward to review the request. Dennis and Cathy <br />Solomon, and Tohn LaRussa of Building Works, came forward to be sworn in. Mr. Solomon explained <br />that he would like to add two bedrooms to the back of his house; an in-law suite for his father-in-law, <br />and one for his mother. They would like to add two bathrooms and a handicapped accessible shower. <br />They will bring the utility room from the basement to the first floor because both parents are having <br />difficulty with steps. Mr. La.Russa indicated he will.be building the addition, which will be 33 x 19 ft. <br />J. Konold made a motion to grant Dennis and Kathy Solomon of 28501 Willet Rd. their request for <br />variance (1123.12), which consists of an addition to their home and that the following variances be <br />granted: <br />A special permit to add to a non-conforming building (1165.02).
