REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MIlNUTES:
The Cultural Activities Commission approved the July 1, 2002 Cultural Activities minutes as
written.
III. NEW BUSINESS:
M. App shared floor plans and drawings from the Medina Performing Arts Center.
The Commissioners reviewed the most recently discussed locations for a Cultural Arts Center
including the viability of the Middle School Auditorium. A joint project with the Senior Center
that would include a 100-seat community theatre and a new performing arts center at the High
School, possibly creating a campus with a new Middle School. Commissioners discussed the
option of the proposal being city or school initiated or as a partnership with both, as well as the
possibility of the facilities being publicly built but privately run.
The Commission unanimously agreed to submit a proposal to City Council, the Mayor, and the
School Board to determine interest, funding and auspices.
IV.
