CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />"TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!" <br />CULTURAL ACTIVITIES COMMISSION <br />MINUTES JULY 1, 2002 <br />NORTH OLIVISTED SENIOR CENTER <br />7:00 P.M. <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />PRESENT: Chairman M. Raig, Board Members; B. App, G. Thompson, L. Beach, B. Martindale <br />and C. Kilbane <br />ALSO PRESENT: Deborah Bock, Director of Senior Center <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF M1N[JTES: <br />III. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Chairman Raig passed out copies of passages from "Architectural Graphic Standards" and <br />"Time-Saver Standards for Building Types" to aide the commission's study of and <br />recommendations for the proposed Cultural Arts Center. <br />Chairman Raig reported from his meeting with the Senior Task Force and the possibility of the <br />two groups working together. <br />Deborah Bock spoke on the progress on the 5enior Center Task Force: <br />-The group began with input on needs and wants of the seniors <br />-Funding source would not come from a levy <br />-Desired location is behind the Recreation Center <br />-A "Campus" approach was suggested to include a new Cultural Arts Center as well <br />-The Senior Center "wish list" compiled by the task force was passed out. Discussed changing <br />needs of senior population and its growth. <br />The Cultural Arts Commission will create its own list on needs, wants and will make its best <br />recommendations on options. <br />M. Raig motioned to work with the Senior Task Force to develop a Community Campus to <br />support Senior and Cultural Arts activities. The motion was seconded by B.
