NEW BUSINESS:
Mr. Barker pointed out to the board that he has some new business to add to the agenda. He gave a
plaque back to Mr. Corell and indicated he made a call to some business clients he has in regard to
C&C Machining. He added that Mr. Lang had given hiin the number of Champion Castings. Mr.
Barker called them on the 27th of June. He spoke with one of the owners, Nancy, and she knew
immediately who the commission is and she said they have the pattern. Mr. Barker informed her
someone from Landmarks will be contacting her in the near future. He did not inquire about prices
because he is not sure what Landmarks will be looking for, but at least they know the pattern is in the
area. Mrs. Lord indicated the initial step will be to get the strips, which is a minimal order. At one
time they were $10 a piece. She added there were three people that contacted the board regarding the
possibility of plaques: the Gotlibowski on the corner of Clague and Stoneybrook, Joe Lang regarding
his house, and the home across the street. Mr. Lang asked if they plaque properties or only houses.
Mrs. Lord said she believes it is buildings according to the way it is written up. Mr. Barker pointed
out another item of new business is the letter that Mrs. Lord submitted to the library architects, Spice
Costantino. He asked if Mrs. Lord received any reply. Mrs. Lord indicated there was no response yet.
She asked if there were any other items of new business. Mr. Barker mentioned the letter from the
Building Commissioner. Mrs. Lord handed out copies of the letter to the board members. Mr. Barker
said he has no objection to what Mr. Conway is asking. The only recommendation he would make is
that if there is a total re-make of the driveway, or relocation, then Landmarks may want to know about
it. Mrs. Lord said she wondered whether the board has the right to make a ruling. They spent a long
time trying to figure out if they can make a ruling on something like a resident wanting to replace a
roof with a similar material, and the issue of whether or not that resident would have to go before
Latldmarks. They still have not done that because of the difficulty that presents. This situation is
somewhat similar to that. Mr. Barker indicated that Mr. Gareau is still trying to work on the board's
recoinmendations and changes to the ordinance. He added that he would not want to hold someone up
