RECEPTION OF VISITOlaS:
The board welcomed Ms. Kubiak, with the Olmsted Historical Society, and the Chang family, of
Butternut Ridge Road.
1V. NEW BUSINESS;
Ms. Kubiak reviewed that she is trying to get the word out to the community about the project to
move the Church to its new location. She's received many phone calls and letters from people and
suggested things were going well. Approximately $6,000 has been raised thus far. However,
additional funds are iieeded before the project can move forward. They would like to start the
project in the Fall of 2004, but may have to postpone it until Spring of 2005, depending on the
funding situation. The owner will donate funds, however they are not in a position to donate as
much as they would like. The architect from the Metroparks has projected that if the move is
postponed until spring, the roof will need to be repaired prior to this fall. The board questioned if
the work did not start by fall if the stain glass windows would be removed and the openings
boarded up. Ms. Kubiak voiced that the church is concerned that if the windows are boarded it may
invite vandalism. N1rs. Lord announced that the Historical Society is sponsoring a fund raiser on
Saturday, August 21'` at the museum parking lot. Tickets cost $35 each and will include dinner,
music and refreshments. The event will start at 7:00 pm and run through 11:00 pm. The board briefly discussed weedy vines taking over
the church structure and that not only is it an eyesore it is not good for the structure itself. They
would like to see the vines addressed to minimize further damage to the building.
Mr. & Mrs. Tae Chang; 26355 Butternut Ridge Road:
Proposal consists of minor change conditions for deck installed.
Mr. Lang reviewed that the Chang family is present at the Commission's request to discuss the deck
which was added to the rear of their home. Although the project is completed, their home is in the
historic district, which requires the commission's approval. The building commissioner submitted a
minor change request which was denied as board members felt further discussion was needed.
Therefore, the Chang's were invited to attend the meeting to discuss issues regarding enhancing the
look of the deck as well as providing privacy from the street.
