<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />NORTH OLMSTED PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />INFORMAL MEETING <br /> <br />October 16, 2000 <br /> <br /> <br />Attendance: Claire Hayes, Chairman <br /> Duane Limpert, City Council Member <br /> Tom Jenkins, Safety Director <br /> Todd Morgan, Commissioner <br /> <br /> <br />Absent: Tim Smith, Vice Chairman <br /> Dave Gardner <br /> Debbie Adams <br /> Rich Scott <br /> <br />This informal meeting began by discussing attendance at the Recreation Commission meetings <br />for 2000. It was the consensus that the Commission will institute a policy about attendance when <br />the next formal meeting is held. <br /> <br />The new, full complement of supervisors in the Recreation Complex were introduced at the <br />meeting: Jason Frolo and Jackie Ryan (Programs); Betsy Burk (Rink). Doug Nist (Pool) joined <br />the meeting later for introduction. <br /> <br />Jason Frolo is a North Olmsted resident who played basketball and baseball for North Olmsted <br />High and went on to Baldwin Wallace College. He still lives in North Olmsted, worked at the <br />Soccer Sportsplex, and now is doing recreational programs. Jason has also initiated a new <br />program, Kindergarten Basketball, which has received a good response. <br /> <br />Betsy Burk is a Toledo University graduate with a figure skating background, started out with <br />learn to skate and precision skating. She taught with the Broadview Heights learn to skate <br />program and has background in the fitness area. She worked for the Lakewood Recreation <br />Department in charge of Summer Softball leagues comprising 56 teams. Betsy will be running <br />our Spring Hockey, which has about 70-80 leagues. She will also be in charge of LaCrosse <br />programs, as she was involved with that at Toledo. Her first challenge is going to be learn to <br />skate and reviewing the Hockey Club schedule. <br /> <br />Jackie Ryan is also a North Olmsted resident. Jackie started out here part time with us, and she <br />became so indispensable we had to hire her full time. She started working with secretarial skills <br />in our front office, and then she graduated to bookkeeping for the ball diamonds. She has <br />program responsibilities and building supervision. <br />INFORMAL MEETING <br /> <br />
