RICHARD JESSE, SAFETY DIRECTOR

Ted DiSalvo was sworn in as Commissioner of Parks and Recreation for the City of North
Olmsted by Mayor Norman Musial on Monday, January 20, 2003. Mr. Jesse stated that Mr.
DiSalvo is motivated and has already made a positive impact in the City, and the Recreation
Department has seen a noticeable boost in employee morale. He is currently focusing on budget,
security, facility maintenance and cleanliness issues. Mr. DiSalvo has summarized and will present
his thoughts since joining the City. Mr. Jesse was astonished at the new Commissioner’s
accomplishments in the short period of time since he’s been here and thanked the Commission for
its input in the selection process. Each member extended his/her welcome to Ted.

Mr. Jesse met with Doug Fulton of Cash Register Systems regarding point of sale and
facility/patron management for the Recreation Center. A system that would encompass security,
patron administration and program management, together with point of sale and cash
management, including concessions, is needed. This system should be compatible with the
system at Springvale. Mr. Fulton expressed confidence to meet the City’s needs, with one
supplier overseeing the entire implementation. Mr. Fulton will again meet with the Rec Center
staff and Joan Gency of IMS for further discussion of the point of sale system.
