NORTH OLMSTED CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION <br />Regular Meeting of The North Olmsted Civil Service Commission - May 22, 1975 <br />Present were Commissioners Bill Coming; Jack Grady; Chairman Al Conte; <br />Secretary James Kline; Bob Storch and Robert Kraps. <br />Correspondence: <br />1. April 14, 1975 - Two letters sent to J. Robert Kraps, Personnel Director, <br />North Olmsted Public Schools, one submitting names of <br />classified Bus Operators and the second submitting names <br />for appointment for Library Clerk. <br />2. <br />April <br />21, 1975 <br />- Letter from J. Robert Kraps certifying that Sally K. <br />Hartman has met all the qualifications for a school <br />bus operator. <br />3. <br />April <br />29, 1975 <br />- Letter from Dr. Van Auken, Superintendent of Schools,'r <br />certifying that Casimer Malinowski has successfully <br />completed his 6 -month probationary period. <br />4. <br />April <br />3, 1975 - <br />Letter from Henry Caster advising the Commission that <br />Bruce Meneke has been hired as a full time bus operator. <br />5. <br />May 7, <br />1975 - <br />Letter from J. Robert Kraps requesting a test for <br />Switchboard Operator. <br />6. <br />May 9, <br />1975 - <br />Letter from Art Kreutzer, North Olmsted Bus Line, <br />advising the Commission of possible suspensions for <br />two bus operators. <br />New <br />Business: <br />Mr. Storch and Mr. Kraps, representing the North Olmsted Board of Education, <br />made a request to the Commission that the position of Switchboard Operator <br />be re-evaluated. The Boards contention is that the position is difficult <br />to give a proper examination which reflects the unique characteristics of <br />the positi-on. They further pointed out that a person is trained by Ohio Bell <br />for the necessary skills and aptitude for the position. <br />After much discussion and questions by the Commission's members, the following <br />motion was submitted. <br />
