Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the North Olmsted Civil Service Commission -- <br />April 13, 1978° <br />Present were Commissioners Roger Alexander; Harry Malone; Chairman Walter Spalding <br />and Secretary James Kline. <br />Motion by R. Alexander; seconded by Harry Malone that the minutes of March 30, <br />1978 be accepted as corrected. <br />Passed. <br />Correspondence: <br />1. Letters received from Marion R. Taylor, Chief of Police, City of North Olmsted. <br />A. April 2 and 3 advising the Commission of probationary employees <br />having successfully completed their time period. <br />B. March 29 and April 7 - Letters from Joseph Corrigan advising the <br />Commission of personnel changes. <br />Old Business: <br />The Commission reviewed the results of the written examination from McCann <br />0,Associates for Fireman. After discussion among the Commissioners, the following <br />motion was presented: <br />Motion by Roger Alexander, seconded by Harry Malone that the passing score for <br />Fireman be set at 92 points out of a Possible 125 points. <br />Passed. <br />The secretary was instructed to notify all candidates as to the examination <br />results. The physical fitness examination for Fireman will be administered <br />on May 20, 1978. <br />The Commission discussed the request from Councilman Wilamosky concerning the <br />feasibility of changing a fee for Civil Service Examinations to help defray <br />costs. <br />The Commission instructed the secretary to write a letter to Mr_. Wilamosky <br />about our findings, it further instructed the secretary to inform the councilman <br />that the two Commissioners are opposed to charging fees for examinations, it <br />was further agreed that the authority to do so should be established by Council <br />with a City Ordinance. <br />0 <br />
