0TY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION <br />NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO <br />Regular ?Minutes of the North Olmsted Civil Service Commission -- 2/1/79 <br />Present were Commissioners H. Malone, W. Spalding, Roger Alexander and Secretary <br />James Kline. Chief Marion Taylor was also in attendance. <br />Motion by W. Spalding, seconded by Roger Alexander that Harry Malone should <br />serve as the North Olmsted Civil Service Chairman for the year 1979. <br />Passed. <br />Correspondence: <br />1. November 1, 1978 - Letter from J. Gundy advising the Commission that <br />Billie Oring was hired as a clerk in the Building Department. <br />2. Oct. - Dec. 1978 - Letters advising the Commission of many personnel changes <br />in the Service Department from Joseph P. Corrigan, Service Director. <br />3.. Oct. - Jan. 1979 - Letters from Eugene Petre, informing the Commission of <br />Richard Bartho's appointment as Fireman; of Lt. Gerald Haputa's <br />death; and a need for a new Lieutenant examination. <br />4. Oct. - Feb., 1979 - Letters from Marion Taylor, Chief of Police, informing <br />the Commission of numerous probationary appointments who have <br />successfully completed their period of probation. <br />5. Letters from Chief Taylor informing the Commission of the status of <br />present candidates on the Patrolman List. Also a request to remove <br />Michael D. Lider's name for causes listed in the letter. <br />6. Letters from Ernie Zoldesy, Bus Line General Manager, informing the Commission <br />of newly certified bus operators. <br />Old Business: <br />The Commission discussed the problems of finding candidates for a Clerical <br />Assistant II list for appointment. There was agreement that the major problem <br />appeared to be a low rate of pay for this position. The secretary was further <br />instructed to investigate the matter and draft a letter to the Mayor on this <br />problem. <br />
