CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION <br />NORTH OL MSTED, OHIO <br />CIVIL SERVICE MEETING - February 25, 1987 <br />The regular meeting of the Civil Service Commission was brought to order by <br />Chairman, Pat Bahas at 7:45 P.M. In attendance were commission -members: <br />Bob Wendt, Tom Stroh and.secretary., Peg Hill. <br />MINUTES: <br />Minutes of the Civil Service meeting of. Janaury-22, 1987 were read and approved <br />by members of the commission before the meeting. <br />GUESTS: <br />Mayor Petrigac <br />Police Chief Marsh <br />Mrs. Betsy Jack, Adm.- Senior Center <br />Reporter from local newspaper <br />Various other guests <br />UNFINISHED'BUSINESS:- <br />Matters relating to the hiring of a Clerk at the Senior Center were under discussion <br />at this meeting. Before making a public statement members of the commission agreed <br />to remove proceedings to a private area and invited Mayor Petrigac and Mrs. Jack to <br />accompany them. Clarification-of*the procedures to be followed during an interview <br />process were discussed. Upon returning. to the general meeting it was the opinion <br />of the commission that Mrs. Jack contact her choice of candidates from the current <br />ranked civil service list and offer her the clerk's position open at the Senior <br />Center. Mrs. Jack acknowledged*to the commissioners that this would be agreeable <br />with her. <br />Police Chief Marsh addressed the commission with the fact that eight (8) interviews <br />for entry level police candidates had taken place and five, up to this time, had <br />been rejected. <br />Details concerning a letter from a police candidate came up for discussion and the <br />commissioners again moved to private'quartersto confer. Upon returning to the <br />general meeting it was agreed upon by the -commissioners that the candidate would <br />be placed dn'the current ranked list for -entry level police candidates. <br />NEW -BUSINESS: <br />Letter received from Ken Mues, General Manager, NOMBL inquiring about civil service <br />status of service workers i.e. bus washers, cleaners, etc. Commissioners instructed <br />a letter be sent to Mr. Mues informing him that service workers are in a Classified/ <br />Non-competitive category. <br />
