oy <br />- CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION <br />NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO <br />REGULAR MEETING OF THE NORTH OLMSTED CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION - <br />SEPTEMBER 24, 1987 at 4:00 P.M. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Commission members, Thomas Stroh and Bob Wendt, secretary, Peg Hill. <br />DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />Approved as presented. <br />REMARKS: <br />In the absence of Chairman, Pat Bahas, and other guests, the meeting was <br />conducted informally using a prepared agenda. <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />Letter received from medical doctor attesting to the fact that a police <br />candidate now met the visual standard of the North Olmsted Police <br />Department. Commissioners requested a letter be sent to the Police <br />Chief informing him of the medical evaluation of the candidate and that <br />he should remain on the active civil service list and be granted another <br />interview for a patrolman's position. <br />POLICE PERSONNEL MATTER: <br />Civil Service commissioners requested a Legal Opinion from the North <br />Olmsted Law Director regarding an officer who had served a disciplinary <br />action, suspension, being reinstated to his former status with <br />accompanying rights and privileges, including vacation and shift picks. <br />Commissioners requested secretary to draft a letter to Police Chief <br />relating the decision of the commission on this matter. <br />SENIOR CENTER CLERK: <br />Civil Service Commission submitted to the Mayor the names of the three <br />top candidates passing the written and typing examination for the <br />position of Clerk for the City of North Olmsted. A position is open for <br />the Clerk at the Senior Center and the commission requested the results <br />of the interviews be returned to the commission to become a part of the <br />record. <br />POLICE SERGEANT TEST AND REVIEW RESULTS: <br />The testing company confirmed the fact that Patrolman Barry O'Toole was the <br />#1 candidate on the recent sergeant examination: A letter -will be forwarded <br />the Chief Marsh "attesting to this fact. <br />
