CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION <br />NORTH OLMSTCD, OHIO <br />CIVIL SERVICE MEETING: APRIL 25, 1991 <br />PRESENT: Chairman Robert Wendt, Commissioner Henry Robinson, <br />Secretary Tracy Ice <br />GUESTS: Safety Director Ernest Gundy, Fire Chief Osterhouse <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED AS READ. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />After this meeting the Commissioners will go over the protests which <br />were done on the Fire Capts. written exam. The Commissioners agreed <br />with Chief Lee's recommendations and decided to disallow the <br />protests.. Tracy Ice will call Chief Lee after this meeting and <br />advise him of the Commissioners decision and ask him to score the <br />written examinations and to mail us the results. <br />The results of the Fire Capts. examination will be reviewed by the <br />Commission the evening of May 6, 1991. Chief Osterhouse will advise <br />the candidates when the results are ready to be picked up. Mr. <br />Gundy will hand out the results.to the candidates on May 7, 1991. <br />Thomas Klecan had the top score. <br />PRADCO has been anxious to see if the <br />using their services in the future. <br />to get over to the Police Department <br />etc. with Chief Sefcek but does plan <br />near future. <br />City of North -Olmsted will be <br />Bob Wendt has not had a chance <br />to review pricing, procedures <br />to get with the Chief in the <br />The Commission needs to meet and to decide if the City is willing to <br />spend the money which is needed for Mr. Huggins' services of <br />"Insight and Attitudes" (recruiting and preparing candidates for our <br />entry level examinations). Mr. Gundy felt tha-t the Commission needs <br />to first put a proposal together and then send the proposal to him. <br />Mr. Gundy will then have the appropriate people look into the fund <br />situation. This letter was sent to Mr. Gundy on May 14, 1991. <br />The Firefighters -Physical Agility -Test was given on April 27, 1991 <br />at the North Olmsted -Middle School at 9:00 am. The commissioners <br />also, wanted .to do:,'an eye=test, weight and height check on.each <br />candidate':Thistaas-not a.'requirement by The American Physical <br />Qualification Testing -Corporation but something.the commission <br />wanted -,_to do...,`The top -41 candidates qualified to take the Physical <br />Agility Test" and only 34 candidates showed up (7 no shows - these 7 <br />candidates have been removed from our list). The American Physical <br />Qualification Testing.Corporation will grade the examination.. The <br />results went out to each candidate by mail on May 13, 1991. <br />
