CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />"TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!" <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION <br />Minutes —December 20,1999 <br />7:00 PM <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Cummings called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Chairman E. Cummings, Board Members: L. Zolar and J. Thomay <br />ALSO PRESENT: Civil Service Secretary D. Rote and Assistant Civil Service Secretary. K. Fallon. <br />II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: The Civil Service minutes of November 15, 1999, have been <br />submitted for approval. <br />L. Zolar motioned to approve the Civil Service minutes dated 11/15/99, as written. The <br />motion was seconded by J. Thomay and unanimously approved. <br />III. REPORTS: <br />There were 17correspondances sent and received. <br />Ms. Rote reviewed the listing of correspondences pointing out the five year budget as well as <br />the contracts received for Lieutenants Promotional Exam. The letters of intents were sent out <br />to all nine eligible candidates and we received all of their wishes. Since the agenda was sent <br />out to the Board Members, we have also received packets of what the candidates will be <br />introduced to at the test and gives them suggestions on what they should study to help <br />prepare for the test, as well as a biographical evaluation of each of the assessors that will be <br />performing the test. Mr. Cummings questioned if that was all the correspondences we had. <br />Ms. Rote replied "yes". <br />Mr. Cummings motioned to accept the correspondences as read. J. Thomay seconded the <br />motion and unanimously approved. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />The Civil Service Commission will need to review the contract submitted by the Ohio <br />Association of Chiefs of Police, Inc., If the contract is acceptable Chairman Cummings will <br />need to sign the contract. <br />Ms. Rote discussed that there are two copies of the contract; one will go to Civil Service to <br />maintain and the other will be sent back to the Ohio Chiefs Association for their records. <br />J. Thomay motioned to accept the contract as written. L. Zolar seconded the motion and was <br />unanimously approved. <br />Mr. Cummings then proceeded to sign the contracts. <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Ms. Rote reviewed the date set for the Lieutenants Promotional Exam, which would be on <br />
