CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING MAYOR'S CONFERENCE ROOM MINUTES - OCTOBER 16, 2006 7:00 P.M. I. ROLL CALL: Chairman M. Ubaldi called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. PRESENT: M. Ubaldi and W. Hohmann ALSO PRESENT: Assistant Law Director B. O'Malley, Civil Service Secretary Donna Eccleston II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: The Civil Service minutes dated September 18, 2006 and October 10, 2006 have been submitted for approval. Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to accept the minutes with the amended times for the minutes dated October 10, 2006. Mr. Hohmann seconded the motion and unanimously approved. III. COMMUNICATIONS: There were 7 items of correspondence received and S items of correspondence sent out by the Civil Service Commission. IV. OLD BUSINESS: Various Business Related to Entry -Level and Promotional Examinations A general discussion was conducted concerning the Promotional Examination and Entry -Level Examinations; responding testing companies and their qualifications; competitive bidding; retaining Ramsey & Associates for all testing; test date for other promotional ranks at the Police Department; conduct Entry -Level Police and Fire examinations in early 2007; review information received for the Assistant Fire Chief examination at the next meeting; eligible candidates for promotions; letters of intent for the Promotional Police Captain's test; forecast to Ramsey & Associates for the upcoming tests; St. Clarence Hall for the Entry -Level examinations; Cuyahoga Community College Agility Test; 2007 Budget. V. NEW BUSINESS: Mr. Ubaldi discussed the position of the Youth Services Administrator. The old title for this position was the Assistant Director of Community Life Services. The job title is the only thing that has been changed; therefore, the position should remain classified. Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to designate the Youth Services Administrator's position as classified. Mr. Hohmann seconded the motion and unanimously approved.
