CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL CAUCUS ROOM <br />MINUTES -- MARCH 16, 2015 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />I. ROLL CALL: Chairman J. Barrett called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />PRESENT: J. Barrett and K. Rahm <br />ALSO PRESENT: Human Resources Director C. Farver, Asst. Law Director B. O'Malley, Fire <br />Lieutenant B. Shlapack, S. Barrett, and Civil Service Secretary S. Berkley <br />II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />The Civil Service minutes dated February 23, 2015, have been submitted fof approval. <br />Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, that the minutes of the February 23, <br />2015 meeting be approved as received. <br />Motioned passed unanimously. <br />III. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />There were 7 items of correspondence received and 9 items of correspondence sent out by the Civil <br />Service Commission. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />2014 State Report <br />Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, to accept the 2014 State Report as <br />submitted. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic Eligible List <br />Chairman Barrett indicated that there are five (5) names on the Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic <br />Eligible List that have been passed over by the appointing authority three (3) times. According to <br />the Civil Service rules, the Commission will need to set this matter for hearing at the next meeting <br />and to notify the candidates. <br />Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, to set for hearing at the April 20, 2015 <br />meeting, to remove the names of Kevin Kulesa, Nicholas Pobega, Mathew Sullivan, Michael Kocon <br />and Jordan Scheutzow from the Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic Eligible List. The candidates <br />were passed over by the appointing authority three (3) times. Hearing letters will be sent to the <br />candidates with a voluntary withdraw form. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />
