CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING CITY COUNCIL CAUCUS ROOM MINUTES -- MARCH 16, 2015 7:00 P.M. I. ROLL CALL: Chairman J. Barrett called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. PRESENT: J. Barrett and K. Rahm ALSO PRESENT: Human Resources Director C. Farver, Asst. Law Director B. O'Malley, Fire Lieutenant B. Shlapack, S. Barrett, and Civil Service Secretary S. Berkley II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: The Civil Service minutes dated February 23, 2015, have been submitted fof approval. Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, that the minutes of the February 23, 2015 meeting be approved as received. Motioned passed unanimously. III. COMMUNICATIONS: There were 7 items of correspondence received and 9 items of correspondence sent out by the Civil Service Commission. IV. OLD BUSINESS: V. NEW BUSINESS: 2014 State Report Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, to accept the 2014 State Report as submitted. Motion passed unanimously. Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic Eligible List Chairman Barrett indicated that there are five (5) names on the Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic Eligible List that have been passed over by the appointing authority three (3) times. According to the Civil Service rules, the Commission will need to set this matter for hearing at the next meeting and to notify the candidates. Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, to set for hearing at the April 20, 2015 meeting, to remove the names of Kevin Kulesa, Nicholas Pobega, Mathew Sullivan, Michael Kocon and Jordan Scheutzow from the Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic Eligible List. The candidates were passed over by the appointing authority three (3) times. Hearing letters will be sent to the candidates with a voluntary withdraw form. Motion passed unanimously.
