CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING CITY COUNCIL CAUCUS ROOM MINUTES - FEBRUARY 27, 2017 7:00 P.M. I. ROLL CALL: Chairman J. Barrett called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. PRESENT: J. Barrett, W. Brake and T. Smith ALSO PRESENT: Human Resources Director M. Gallo, Asst. Law Director B. O'Malley, and Civil Service Secretary S. Berkley II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: Motion by Chairman Barrett, seconded by Commissioner Brake, that the minutes of the January 23, 2017 meeting be approved as received. Chairman Barrett: yes; Commissioner Brake: yes; Commissioner Smith: abstain. Motion passed 2-1. III. COMMUNICATIONS: There were 19 items of correspondence received and 58 items of correspondence sent out by the Civil Service Commission. IV. OLD BUSINESS: Entry -Level Patrol Officer Eligible List Motion by Chairman Barrett, seconded by Commissioner Smith to remove the names of Sean Collins, Drew Lima, David Garber Jr., Cody Johnson and Alexis Bishop from the Entry -Level Patrol Officer Eligible List pursuant to Rule VII, Section 9(d). Motion passed unanimously. Motion by Commissioner Brake, seconded by Commissioner Smith, to remove the following name from the Entry -Level Patrol Officer Eligible List due to receiving a voluntary removal letter pursuant to Rule VII, Section 10: Alexander Lovasz. Motion passed unanimously. General discussion commenced regarding the revoking of the current Patrol Officer Eligible List and what action is best for the City and the candidates on the eligible list. The remaining candidates on the list shall be notified in writing and advised of their eligibility to compete in a rescheduled examination. Motion by Chairman Barrett, seconded by Commissioner Smith, to revoke the Entry -Level Patrol Officer Eligible List pursuant to Rule VII, Section 5. Motion passed unanimously.
