PLANNING & DESIGN COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> MEETING MINUTES OF APRIL 12, 2023 <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Mr. Anderson called the meeting to order at 7:18 pm in council chambers. <br /> Present: Dave Anderson, Mary Ellen Hemann, Humberto Olivos <br /> Absent: Tom Patton <br /> Staff: Economic & Community Development Director Max Upton, Law Assistant Director <br /> Bryan O'Malley, Special Assistant to the Mayor Chuck Massarolo. <br /> REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br /> Planning & Design Commission minutes of January 25, 2023 and March 22, 2023 are approved <br /> as written. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> 23-23619 Ken Ganley Hyundai; 25730 Lorain Rd <br /> Proposal for a deeper, 24" overhang on the front soffit is required instead of the existing 12". <br /> The site plan notes the distance of both current fascia and the proposed from the street. <br /> Director Upton explained to the board that this would normally have been approved <br /> administratively, however, the BZBA commission granted an amendment, and recommended <br /> approval from the board. <br /> Representative: Joel Copley 309 Monroe St 44847, Engineer; informed the board they are trying <br /> to balance the city code with the brand. He also informed the board that the previous design did <br /> not have deep enough overhang, and they were able to mitigate that to 24" from the original 48" <br /> Director Upton clarified that the variance was already granted and that this meeting was to <br /> approve the plan as presented as to what the building would look like. Mr. Anderson asked if it <br /> was just a modification to the original plan that was approved, Director Upton stated, yes. <br /> Mr. Olivos asked if the modification would be vertical or horizontal. Mr. Copley replied that it <br /> would be horizontal. <br /> Mr. Anderson moved, seconded by Mr. Olivos, to approve 23-23619 Ken Ganley Hyundai; <br /> 25370 Lorain Rd. Proposal for a deeper, 24" overhang on the front soffit is required instead of <br /> the existing 12". <br /> Motion Passed 3-0 <br /> COMMUNICATIONS <br /> Director Upton informed the board that there was one new board member to be interviewed this <br /> week, and that the Mayor was working on obtaining two more candidates. <br />
