CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING CITY COUNCIL CAUCUS ROOM MINUTES -JANUARY 22, 2024 7:00 P.M. ROLL CALL: Chair called the meeting to order at 7:13 p.m. PRESENT: A. Flannery, J. Cotofan, T. Fratini ALSO PRESENT: Public Safety Director J. Scofield via phone and HR Administrative Secretary D. Eccleston II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: Motion by Commissioner Flannery, seconded by Commissioner Fratini to approve the minutes of December 18, 2023. Motion passed unanimously. III. COMMUNICATIONS: There was 1 item of correspondence received and 6 items of correspondence sent out by the Civil Service Commission. IV. OLD BUSINESS: Police Officer Entry -Level Eligible List There are four (4) names remaining on the Police Officer Entry -Level Eligible List: original rank 92, #11, #17 and #21. Public Safety Director Jennifer Scofield indicated that there are only four (4) names remaining on this list and would like to revoke the list pursuant to Rule VII, Eligible List. Section 6, Insufficient Names Remaining. Discussion followed regarding notices of removal should be sent to the four (4) remaining candidates and then at the February meeting revoke the eligible list, providing no appeals would be heard. Motion by Commissioner Flannery, seconded by Commissioner Fratini to submit notice of removal to the four (4) remaining candidates on the Police Officer Entry -Level Eligible List pursuant to Rule VII. Eligible List, Section 7, Revocation of List. Motion passed unanimously. Police Officer Lateral Transfer Eligible List General discussion commenced regarding the Police Officer Lateral Transfer Eli71ble List. There are two (2) remaining names on the eligible list; original rank 41 and original rank 44. The eligible list for lateral transfers expires March 20, 2024; therefore, the regular scheduled meeting of March 18, 2024 will be cancelled and a special meeting of March 25, 2024 will be held providing all participants can attend.
