r <br />BUILDING & ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MEETING MINUTES FOR JANUARY 8, 2024 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Papotto called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers. <br />Present: Bob Papotto, Ralph Mackey, Dan Rahm, Michael Kovach, Suzie Patton <br />Staff: Director Max Upton, Building Coordinator Katie Seeley, Assistant Law Director Bryan <br />O'Malley, Administrative Assistant Lyn Wilson <br />RESIDENTIAL APPEALS AND REQUESTS <br />23-25882; Justin Reiss; 4316 Brendan Lane <br />Representative: Justin Reiss: 4316 Brendan Lane <br />Ms. Seeley introduced the case as a proposal that consisted of a fence in the side and rear yard of <br />a corner lot. There was one variance request of 1 1 feet for the setback of the fence. Code <br />required 20, applicant provided nine, she also noted the proposed fence was a six -foot -high and <br />solid wood. <br />Mr. Reiss stated he requested the variance to install a privacy fence of his corner lot property. He <br />stated the fence wouldn't obstruct traffic sight lines and would enhance nci,�hborhood aesthetics <br />without any negative impacts. Board members asked questions about the placement of the fence <br />and ,vhich side of it would the oak tree be. to which Mr. Reiss replied that it would be on the <br />inside of the fence. <br />Mr. Rahm moved to approve 23-25882, Justin Reiss. 4316 Brendan Lane: seconded by Mr. <br />Kovach. <br />During the board members discussion, the% noted the house was already veru close to the <br />property line. The carport violated zoning regulations as it <br />was installed without a permit. leading to a violation notice.
