CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL CAUCUS ROOM <br />MINUTES - MAY 20, 2024 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />I. ROLL CALL: Chair called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. <br />PRESENT: A. Flannery, J. Cotofan, T. Fratini <br />ALSO PRESENT: Public Safety Director J. Scofield, Police Sergeant J. Kaminski. Police <br />Sergeant R. Kummer, Human Resources Director L. Kidd, Assistant Law <br />Director B. O'Malley, and HR Administrative Secretary D. Eccleston <br />II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />Motion by Commissioner Flannery, seconded by Commissioner Cotofan to approve the special <br />meeting minutes of April 29, 2024. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Motion by Commissioner Flannery, seconded by Commissioner Cotofan to approve the special <br />meeting minutes of March 25, 2024. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />III. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />There were 5 items of correspondence received and 6 items of correspondence sent out by the Civil <br />Service Commission. <br />General discussion commenced regarding amendment to Rule III, Section 4, Nature of Promotional <br />Exam; keeping the current language and not adopting the amendment to the rule. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />Promotional Police Lieutenant Examination Results <br />General discussion followed regarding the Promotional Police Lieutenant Examination Results. <br />The written score weight is 40% and the oral assessment weight is 60%. Candidate 4001, Matthew <br />Beck received a 83.20% written score weighted at 33.28°'0 and 80% oral assessment weighted at <br />48% with a total score of 81.28% plus 10 points seniority credit with a final total score of 91.280/0; <br />Candidate #004, Charles Fioritto, received a 80% written score weighted at 32% and 88% oral <br />assessment weighted at 52.80% with a total score of 84.80% plus 10 points seniority credit with a <br />final total score of 94.80%; Candidate 4002, James Kaminski, received a 87.20% written score <br />weighted at 34.88% and 64% oral assessment weighted at 38.40% with a total score of 73.28% plus <br />7.6 points seniority credit with a final total score of 80.88%. and Candidate #003. Rory Kummer. <br />received a 84.80% written score weighted at 33.92% and 76% oral assessment weighted at 45.60% <br />with a total score of 79.52% plus 5.8 points seniority credit with a final total score of 85.32%. <br />The Police Lieutenant Promotional Ranking List will expire on May 20, 2026. The ranking list is as <br />follows: Rank 41, Charles Fioritto, with a total score of 94.80%, rank #2. Matthew Beck with a <br />
