CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-183 <br />BY: THE MAYOR AND THE ENTIRE CITY COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE ACHIEVEMENT BY <br />JOHN JECKER <br />OF THE EAGLE SCOUT AWARD IN BOY SCOUTING <br />WHEREAS, this Council and Administration recognize and reaffirm their dedication to organized Scouting; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration further recognize that those participating in Scouting, both the <br />youth and their leaders, are an invaluable asset to the community and the Nation, and that the ideals of Scouting, the Scout <br />Oath and the Scout Law are commitments that all citizens should strive for; and <br />WHEREAS, when one of our young citizens has been committed to Scouting to such an extent that he earns the <br />rank of Eagle Scout, it is truly a noteworthy accomplishment; and <br />WHEREAS, JOHN began his Scouting career as a Cub Scout in Pack 332, earning the Arrow of Light and Parvuli <br />Dei awards; and <br />WHEREAS, JOHN, as a Boy Scout, has held various positions in the troop including Chaplain's Aid, Chief <br />Cook, Grub Master, Patrol Leader and Senior Patrol Leader; he is a member of the Order of The Arrow and earned his <br />Pope Pius XII award; he has attended monthly campouts and summer camp for seven years, and at Seven Ranges, JOHN <br />earned his 5`h Year Pipestone award (Camp Honors); and <br />WHEREAS, JOHN, in achieving his Eagle Scout Award earned twenty -nine Merit Badges; and <br />WHEREAS, JOHN'S Eagle Scout Project was conducted at the Arrupe Neighborhood Partnership Home. His <br />project consisted of building shelves in the basement to store and organize all of the equipment, clothes and food for 1-he <br />St. Benedict Joseph Labre Ministry to the Homeless; the shelves allowed the items to be organized and well kept for i11e <br />organization; and <br />WHEREAS, JOHN, is a senior at St. Ignatius High School and has received first honors every semester; he has <br />participated in many service activities at school, including the St. Joseph Labre Ministry to the Homeless, the St. Joseph <br />of Arimethia Pall Bearers, and the Red Cross Blood Drive; he is the President of the PEZ Club, a National Merit <br />Commended Student, and a Eucharistic Minister; and <br />WHEREAS, JOHN, after graduation from high school, will attend the University of Toledo to study Pharmacy; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the reception of the Eagle Scout Award by JOHN JECKER is a noteworthy accomplishment <br />deserving of the congratulations of the entire community. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, <br />COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That this Council and City Administration extend best wishes and heartiest congratulations to <br />JOHN DECKER on his achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to JOHN <br />JECKER, <br />Passed: OoS' <br />A st: <br />Barbara L.
