CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005 - 156 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC <br />SAFETY TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF <br />EQUIPMENT FOR A NEW RADIO INTEROPERABILITY SYSTEM <br />FOR THE NORTH OLMSTED FIRE DEPARTMENT, AS PER <br />SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE IN HIS OFFICE, AND AUTHORIZING <br />THE MAYOR, SUBJECT TO APPROVAL BY THE BOARD OF <br />CONTROL, IF NECESSARY, TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR <br />SAME, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the 2004 FEMA grant applied for and received by the City is in part <br />to be expended for the purchase of equipment for a new Radio Interoperability System <br />for the North Olmsted Fire Department; and <br />WHEREAS, bids and specifications for said equipment purchase have been <br />prepared by the Fire Department and are on file in the office of the Director of Public <br />Safety; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Administration to purchase said equipment with <br />funds received from the above - described FEMA grant; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor, upon approval <br />of the Board of Control, if necessary, to enter into a contract or contracts for the purchase <br />of said equipment with the lowest and best bidder; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Safety be and he is hereby authorized to <br />advertise for bids for the purchase of equipment for a new Radio Interoperability System <br />for the North Olmsted Fire Department, in accordance with the plans and specifications <br />prepared by the Fire Department and now on file in his office; and further that, upon <br />approval by the Board of Control, if necessary, the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter <br />into a contract and execute same on behalf of the City of North Olmsted with the lowest <br />and best bidder. <br />
