w, fir. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2005 —131 <br />BY: Council Member Gareau and Council Member Barker <br />AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE OFFICIAL NAME OF <br />THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES, AS <br />ESTABLISHED AND CREATED BYARTICLE V, SECTION 6 <br />OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, <br />TO THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY LIFE SER VICES. <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Human Resources was created and established by Article <br />V, Section 6 of the North Olmsted Charter; and <br />WHEREAS, the Charter Review Commission, on June 21, 2005, acting pursuant to <br />Article XVI of the North Olmsted Charter, entitled " Nonsubstantive Charter Language," <br />recommended to this Council that the name of the Department of Human Resources be changed, <br />as a nonsubstantive charter language change, to the Department of Community Life Services; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council, on August 2, 2005, and acting pursuant to said Article XVI of <br />the Charter, requested that the Director of Law provide a written opinion as to whether the name <br />of the Department of Human Resources could legally be changed by ordinance to the Department <br />of Community Life Services as a nonsubstantive charter language change; and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Law, on August 10, 2005, provided this Council with a <br />formal legal opinion, concluding that the name of the Department of Human Resources could <br />legally be changed by ordinance, pursuant to Article XVI of the Charter, to the Department of <br />Community Life Services as a nonsubstantive charter language change; and <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of Article XVI of the Charter, this <br />legislation proposing to change the name of the Department of Human Resources to the <br />Department of Community Life Services, as a nonsubstantive charter language change, has been <br />advertised by title and text in a newspaper of general circulation within the City on three separate <br />dates with at least two weeks separating each publication; and <br />WHEREAS, a public hearing, occurring no later than thirty days after, and no earlier than <br />five days before the last publication of notice, and further occurring between the first and third <br />readings of this Ordinance, has been held on2ltt4 2005; and <br />i <br />
