CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2005 - -127 BY: Mayor Thomas E. O'Grady A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR STATE OF OHIO ISSUE 2 INFRASTRUCTURE BOND PROGRAM FUNDING FOR GREAT NORTHERN BOULEVARD RECONSTRUCTION FROM NOMBL LANE TO COUNTRY CLUB BOULEVARD AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, Great Northern Boulevard is a State Route (S.R. 252) located within the boundaries of the City of North Olmsted; and WHEREAS, The Ohio Department of Transportation and the City of North Olmsted are desirous of making application to the State of Ohio for Issue 2 funding in connection with the reconstruction of Great Northern Boulevard; and WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has agreed with the Ohio Department of Transportation to make application to the State of Ohio for Issue 2 funding on behalf of the Ohio Department of Transportation and the City of North Olmsted, in connection with the Great Northern Boulevard Reconstruction Project; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to submit an application to the Ohio Public Works Commission for Issue 2 funding for Great Northern Boulevard reconstruction in connection with the Project; and to execute all documents and do all things necessary in furtherance thereof. SECTION 2: That, if such application is approved, it is the intent of this Council to pay for this City's portion of the costs in connection with such project therewith. SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that the preparation and submission of the application for funding is immediately necessary in order to meet the deadline for Issue 2 applications; and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two - thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
