Ordinance No. 2005 -113 <br />the City that vary from state civil service law procedure: <br />ARTICLE VI THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION <br />SEC. 4. PROCEDURE <br />The Civil Service Commission of the City of North Olmsted shall prescribe and enforce rules and <br />regulations for the Classified Service that may vary from State civil service law, shall keep a <br />record of its proceedings and examinations, which shall be open to public inspection, and shall in <br />all matters not in conflict with this Charter or the City's ordinances, conduct its affairs in <br />accordance with its own rules and regulations, which may vary from State civil service law. the <br />r� of the general law, and in In all promotional examinations, the Civil Service Commission <br />of the City of North Olmsted shall certify to the appointing officer after examination, the name of <br />the top applicant to the position open by promotion and the appointing officer shall appoint the said <br />top applicant in all cases to the position to be filled by promotion. <br />SECTION2. If the foregoing proposal receives the affirmative vote of a majority of the <br />electors voting thereon, then the said amendment to Article VI, Section 4 of the Charter shall be <br />effective on January 1, 2006. <br />SECTION 3. It is the desire of the Council that the ballot for said question shall be in <br />substantially the following form: <br />PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENT <br />A majority affirmative vote is necessary for passage. <br />Shall Article VI, Section 4 of the Charter of the City of North <br />Olmsted be amended so as to authorize the North Olmsted Civil <br />Service Commission to adopt local rules and regulations that may <br />vary from state civil service law procedure? <br />Yes <br />FO-10s <br />SECTION 4. The Clerk of Council is authorized and directed to deliver a certified copy of <br />this Ordinance to the Board of Elections of Cuyahoga County no sooner than July 11, 2005, and no <br />later than September 9, 2005. <br />2 <br />
